Sept 8th-12th 2019 Provo,Utah

Sept 8th We left Diamond Campground in Woodland Park, Colorado. We had not driven 2 hrs till we run into a bad rain cloud. After the wipers had run about 10 mins the driver wiper went flying off into the air!!!! All I could say was REALLY!!! what trouble we have had with the front of this thing!! Lol
Rod pulled over quickly got his rain coat and walked back and guess what!!! He found our wiper!!! Still in tact and able to put back on!!! Lost a small clip he could not find so good ole cable ties fixed it just fine!!! We went on to our next destination at Saddleback Campground in Parachute, Colorado. Small little town just out side of Grand Junction, Colorado.
Sept 9th we drove into Grand Junction to spend the day and for me to see a Dr as I have had trouble with my ears for several days, and now beginning to have some pain. After the removal of some crusted ear wax I was hearing great and felt much better. The Dr said really common with some people with hearing aids and the dry air up here. Or maybe I am just getting old!!! Lol
Found a Napa store that gave us a new clip for our cable tied windshield wiper!!! Thank you Napa store for coming to the rescue. We found a great Chinese restaurant had lunch and toured around town for a while. We were late getting into town as the Interstate had us stopped for a little over and hour for road work coming into town. We hit a few pawn shops as Rod is looking for a small set of wrenches and he found a set for $5.00!! He was thrilled!!!!
Sept 10th We decided to drive back east about 10 miles and visited a small town called Rifle, Colorado. We walked around the town, visited the Walmart had lunch at City BBQ stopped in and visited a place called Shooters grill and wished we had went there for lunch. All the waitresses had cowboy outfits, guns included!!! They said they had been featured on TV several times!! A great day in Rifle!!!
Sept 11th We decided to get up and leave early and travel 2 hrs to Arches National Park in Moab, Utah. What an incredible adventure and we were sure glad we made the drive!!! It’s only a 18 mile park but the views are stunning!!!! A long day but sure was worth the trip.
Sept 12th We got the car loaded and packed up the RV and off we went again toward Salt Lake City our next destination!! We drove through Provo Utah which is a much bigger city than I expected. Oh but before we got there we were going through a town called Spanish Fork and low and behold my side of the windshield wipers broke!!! Again all I could say was REALLY!!! So agin we found a Napa store there in town and it took them an hour to find a wiper that would work for us, repaired again and on the road again!!!
We drove about an hour through the work evening through Salt Lake and found a Cracker Barrel stopped for the night, had supper, and about ready for bed!!! The views today have just been more than word can express.
I’ll post a few pics!! I have taken over 2500 pics on this trip already!!!
Please keep us in prayer for safe travels and now everything is new on the windshield and new wipers  we hope that will not be an issue again!!! Lol
Love to all, Ms. Fran & Cap’n Rod

Sept 4th-7th 2019 Woodland Park, Colorado

I just first have to say we have prayed for everyone at home the last few days having to deal with the hurricane Dorian. So far I have not heard of any devastating damage. So glad everyone is safe and ready to clean up and start over.
Our last few days here have been wonderful!! Great weather except one night of about an hour of thunderstorms and rain. Otherwise the days are 75 degrees the nights 54 degrees.
Wed. 4th we left 3 Flags Campground in Black Hawk, South Dakota and drove to Loveland Colorado and spent the night at Cracker Barrel!! Supper and breakfast !! Right at my door!! We drove on to just outside Colorado Springs to Diamond Campground in Woodland Park Colorado. Got set up and rested all evening.
Thursday 5th We needed up staying in all day I just did not feel well and my BP was 90/60!! Rested!!
Friday 6th I feel much better today!! So we took off and drove to Garden of The Gods. What a fabulous park all drive through of rocks the size of houses or bigger!! It is the place of the 60 thousand to. Rock that is totally balanced on a smaller rock and has been for thousands of years. They have proven it is not attached to the smaller rock but perfectly balanced on it!! I real sight to see!! Pics just don’t do it justice. But I took many!!! Lol
We then stopped at North Pole Colorado (a real City) and enjoyed a walk through Santas workshop rode Santa’s train and sky lift to over look the mountains. Need to get back home after that as thunderstorms were predicted around 4pm and we need to be home for Lexie. And sure enough they arrived as predicted. CBD oil did not even touch her anxiety. Now I know I have truly tried everything on the market for her. I’m sad I can’t help her !!!
Saturday 7th We left early picked up sandwiches at Subway to take with us to Pikes Peak!! 20 miles up the mountain 150 hairpin turns but man was it a view 15,000 ft high!!  We parked at mile marker 16 where they have a huge parking lot and rode the shuttle the rest of the way up!! Another 4 miles!!
They are building a humongous overlook at the summit that will be open in 2021 and will be an incredible glass overlooking!!
Little Sparky (our little Chev Spark) made the trip without any problems. Rod liked driving down those curvy roads!!! Lol
Definitely a Bucket List Day!!! Leaving here tomorrow!! I’ll let you know where we end up next!!
Love to all, Ms. Fran & Cap’n Rod

August 31-Sept 3rd 2019 Black Hawk, SD

August 31st we left Boots Campground in Medora North Dakota. What a brand time we have had here in the Theodore National Park. We had not been drinking an hour when a big semi went by us and there a rock and put a dime size chip in our brand new windshield that was replaced 12 days ago!!!  We could hardly believe it!!  So my phone calls started through the insurance company which put me to Safelite Glass repair. The nearest place to us was Rapid City, South Dakota. Se we made a detour change as being a holiday Labor Day weekend, nothing could be scheduled till Tues. I found us a campground between Rapid City and Sturgis that could take us till Wednesday so I could schedule repairs on Tuesday after the holiday. We enjoyed Three Flags Campground in Black Hawk for the long weekend.
Sunday !!!  NASCAR!!!  Lol. It’s a Sunday mandatory this time of year.
Monday Labor Day we made a Walmart run. Bought steaks to grill at the campground!!
Tuesday Sept 3rd just as scheduled the Safelite man had the chip in our windshield repaired in 20 mins. It wouldn’t have taken that long but he was a VW restorer of old VWs so he had Rod had much to talk about!! LOL.  After the repair we took Lexie for her Spa appt at Petco in Rapid City and I enjoyed a Manicure and pedicure while we waited just across the street. Rod went to a Runnings Store (it’s a chain much like Tractor Supply but much larger).
When he came to pick me up we still had time to kill waiting on Lexie so we went back as Rod had found some shirts he knew I would like. And I did so I bought 3 new shirts and him a pair of fleece lined jeans that will be handy when the cold does arrive!,
Leaving tomorrow to head south planning on a few days in Woodland , CO to visit Pikes Peak!!
I’ll keep posting!! We sure are praying for all our family and friends at home as Dorian pass through. Lord please everyone safe!!
Love to all, Ms. Fran & Cap’n Rod

August 30, 2019 Theodore Roosevelt Nat Park Medora, ND

Our last day here in this incredible national Park. We enjoyed our last day touring the small community town of Medora. I can only imagine why President Roosevelt fell in love with this place.
We visited ONE MORE cowboy museum, I thought Rodney had seen enough cowboy museums, but he wanted to visit the one here. It was a nice museum but looked just like the 100 others we have visited LOL !!!!
Walked through all the gift shops, ate at the Cowboy Cafe having another great buffalo sub and burger.
We took a 30 min horse and carriage ride around town. The cutest young man was our guide but really knew nothing about the area or the town. Need less to say Rod knew more than he did !! LOL
Came home got the RV ready to pull out tomorrow!! Our next destination? Check out the blog in a few days!! It will be south!!! As I am tired of the cold weather!! Lol
Love to all, Ms. Fran & Cap’n Rod

August 25-29th Medora, N. Dakota Theodore Roosevelt National Park

We arrived in Medora, ND August 25th and set up at Boots Campground in the National Park. Small simple place but clean and well kept. You go in the campground set up then drive into the little town (1 mile)  to Boots Bar and Grill, tell them how long you want to stay and pay.
We had ordered parts for our steps on the motor home so we ask the guy at the restaurant how we would receive since there was no office at the campground? He said oh they will deliver to the Boots home up on the hill just outside the campground. Scheduled delivery is on Thursday the 29th.
The next day 26th, we drove through the park in the car as it was 64 degrees and the wind was 30-35 MPH!! We tried to walk a few short trails but the wind was so bad at times I could hardly stand up!!!!
Still an incredible drive and the views were spectacular!!!
We went out again on the 27th temp was 79 degrees, sunny and hardly any wind. We went to the
Painted Canyon and walked the trail and took some great pics. This is a definite hidden gem of a place.
Went to Boots Bar and Grill for dinner we enjoyed a great Bison Burger!!! Hard to eat after you see these wooly ugly creatures up close!!! Lol. They are massive!! What I loved was the humongous villages of  Prairie dogs!! There was really millions of them. They walk right up to the car and look in !! If you start to open the door though they scurry back to their holes and stick their heads out to see if your coming!! Lol
Thursday we stayed home all day chores and waited for the UPS person to delivery the parts for our steps. Rod had the old one off and ready to put in when it arrived about 3:30pm. In an dhour stems were working properly again!! One more day here we are spending it in town there is just one more Cowboy Museum Rod must see before we head south again!!! Lol
Pulling out on Friday headed south to Bonneville Salts Flats!! The adventure continues.
Love to all, Ms. Fran & Cap’n Rod
