1/2-3/16 Saturday & Sunday Sanford Fla

1-2-16 Saturday Cloudy day here in Sanford and bit chilly, but we decided to take off for a ride to DeLand, Fla. it's a Small rural college town BUT it was told to the guys there was a great Gun shop/ pawn shop there!! So off we went to explore. First stop was Perkins restaurant for a great feast. When we arrived at the gun shop boy were we impressed as none of us had ever seen so many guns in one store!! The guys were in heaven. LOL After a few hours there we did make it to downtown and strolled the downtown area and the unique shops. We decided to skip supper and make a stop at Baskins Robbins for ice cream. Hey you only live once, eat ice cream whenever you want!! Hehe We completed the day with rest back at the boat!!

1-3-16 Sunday Well I got up this morning and checked the weather in Georgetown, SC it was 37 degrees!!! So I sure don't think I should complain as it was 62 degrees here in Sanford this morning!!!! Day 10 &11 Wed and Thur 1/8&9/2014

Good evening to all!! Well today is day 11 and I did not post yesterday, day 10, because actually we did nothing and I had poor poor internet service yesterday.
Today we got up like 8:30am!!! And took Lexie for a long walk which she enjoys a lot, as there is a great walking areas here!!!! We then decided to get our tandem bike off the boat and cruise around town for a while. We visited the Sanford museum and lots of cute little old town shops, visited the welcome center for a few brochures of things we would like to do while we are in the area. A beautiful day when we started out 70 degrees but soon began to misty rain. We were just glad it was not freezing!!! I have attached some pics of things we saw and learned about the area. We rode about 2 hours and then returned to the boat to have lunch and rest up as the street party in Sanford was tonight!!!
We walked down with Paula and Jim to the blocked off street where MANY venders of all the town shops set up tents and had a chili cookbook at this monthly event called "ALIVE after FIVE". You purchase a $7.00 wrist band and walk the street and try all the venders chili!! We certainly got our $7.00 worth!! Also had ice cream samples, popcorn, a plate of fish with coleslaw and tarter sauce. Wow, I thought a real deal and even though it was still misting rain the whole evening we still had a great time. Back to the boat for showers and rest up after the long stroll of which all of us agreed we did not walk off many calories from one cup of chili till the next booth served us another one!! Ha.
Fun evening!! very laid back day, but I guess that is what snow birds do when they go south for the winter!!! Ha  Enjoying everyday!!!!
I have attached a few pics I took today, hope you enjoy!!!
Love to all, Ms. Fran and Capt Rod

As cold as it has been, there is so much here in bloom!!!

This city grows most of the celery sold in the United States!!!

The Snapper lawn mower was invented here in Sanford!!!  HUH!! Learn something new everyday!!!

Rodney has to read all the history signs!!! You surprised ?? Does he look like a tourist?

After a 2 hour bike ride, what do you do?  Take a nap!!!

Paula and I at the street party!!

Stealing a kiss!!!!

Day 7 Sunday 1/5/2014

What a beautiful day which started out about 7:15 pulling up anchor, I mean Rod actually bare handed pulling up the 100 ft of chain and the 50 lb anchor!!! As you may have read yesterday the anchor motor quit working!!! I could not resist taking a picture of the georgeous sunrise!!! (Its attached)
The St John's River along with Lake George just continues to surprise us with some awesome views that no picture could ever capture!! I have attached a few.
At 2pm we arrived at Monroe Harbor in Sanford, Fla. 92 degrees and sunny!!  THIS is a January to remember!!  I love summertime in January !  Ha
Paula and Jim met us at our dock space (under a shed no less) and helped us get docked and water and power restored to the boat. Lexie got a nice walk for about 1/2 mile down the park right beside of the Marina. She really enjoyed that time on land!!!
After Clean up and getting everything put away, we showered and dressed up in our shorts and summer shirts, and flip flops and went to eat Mexican to celebrate Paula's birthday!!
We had a great time and discussed how much we had missed each other and made plans for things to do while here in Sanford.
A trip for groceries is in order for tomorrow, along with purshasing tuiille for making a Tutu ( I will share more on that later in the week) and Rod will be washing the boat as you can see in the pictures attached we really have a bad "ICW Mustache" on the front of the boat! At the water line, if you see any boat with one of these that is what it is called!!, Ha
Paula took pictures of our arrival in the Marina and sent them to me to share!!
We have had a great day and a week of travel to remember!! God has had His hand on us the entire week!!!! For that we say THANK YOU LORD!!!!
Love to all, and I will try to keep this updated everyday but if I happen to miss a day, I will catch up on our adventures!!!! Thanks for reading and sharing this wonderful experience with us, Ms. Fran and Capt Rod
The sunrise at our anchorage as we were leaving this morning!,

The picture just don't do justice to this view, nor can you see ALL the manatee around the boat !

You can not believe all the manatee swimming just below the water!! Wish they coud be seen!!!

Another view from the boat!!!  Looks like Georgetown, the temperature tells me it is not!!!

The thermal under wear have been packed up, and shorts have replaced them.  Wintertime in Florida!!!
You got to love it!!!!
Coming into Marina for dockage at Monroe Harbor Marina (pictues thanks to Paula). See that waterway mustache?? Takes Clorox to remove it!!!

With a birthday desert !! Paula had to wear the restaurants birthday hat!!! Too funny!!!

Good dinner and good time spent with our BBF's. (Best boater friends)
