August 30, 2019 Theodore Roosevelt Nat Park Medora, ND

Our last day here in this incredible national Park. We enjoyed our last day touring the small community town of Medora. I can only imagine why President Roosevelt fell in love with this place.
We visited ONE MORE cowboy museum, I thought Rodney had seen enough cowboy museums, but he wanted to visit the one here. It was a nice museum but looked just like the 100 others we have visited LOL !!!!
Walked through all the gift shops, ate at the Cowboy Cafe having another great buffalo sub and burger.
We took a 30 min horse and carriage ride around town. The cutest young man was our guide but really knew nothing about the area or the town. Need less to say Rod knew more than he did !! LOL
Came home got the RV ready to pull out tomorrow!! Our next destination? Check out the blog in a few days!! It will be south!!! As I am tired of the cold weather!! Lol
Love to all, Ms. Fran & Cap’n Rod

August 25-29th Medora, N. Dakota Theodore Roosevelt National Park

We arrived in Medora, ND August 25th and set up at Boots Campground in the National Park. Small simple place but clean and well kept. You go in the campground set up then drive into the little town (1 mile)  to Boots Bar and Grill, tell them how long you want to stay and pay.
We had ordered parts for our steps on the motor home so we ask the guy at the restaurant how we would receive since there was no office at the campground? He said oh they will deliver to the Boots home up on the hill just outside the campground. Scheduled delivery is on Thursday the 29th.
The next day 26th, we drove through the park in the car as it was 64 degrees and the wind was 30-35 MPH!! We tried to walk a few short trails but the wind was so bad at times I could hardly stand up!!!!
Still an incredible drive and the views were spectacular!!!
We went out again on the 27th temp was 79 degrees, sunny and hardly any wind. We went to the
Painted Canyon and walked the trail and took some great pics. This is a definite hidden gem of a place.
Went to Boots Bar and Grill for dinner we enjoyed a great Bison Burger!!! Hard to eat after you see these wooly ugly creatures up close!!! Lol. They are massive!! What I loved was the humongous villages of  Prairie dogs!! There was really millions of them. They walk right up to the car and look in !! If you start to open the door though they scurry back to their holes and stick their heads out to see if your coming!! Lol
Thursday we stayed home all day chores and waited for the UPS person to delivery the parts for our steps. Rod had the old one off and ready to put in when it arrived about 3:30pm. In an dhour stems were working properly again!! One more day here we are spending it in town there is just one more Cowboy Museum Rod must see before we head south again!!! Lol
Pulling out on Friday headed south to Bonneville Salts Flats!! The adventure continues.
Love to all, Ms. Fran & Cap’n Rod

August 10-24th 2019 Kelispell, Montana

Well it’s been a few weeks so I figured I had better catch up on my blog!!
The past few weeks have been a whirlwind!! Trying to get the broken windshield replaced. It arrived at Glass Dr on the 19th after the trucking company lost the darn thing twice (claimed it was sitting in a warehouse)😤 and upon opening the crate??? It was broken in 2 places!!!! Really??? So it was reordered. In the meant time we have had some good adventures. We just decided God wanted us to stay in Kelispell, Mt for awhile.
We went to Canada on the 17th for the while day. Visited a few towns there, shopped!! Things were much cheaper!! I actually bought some Christmas presents!! 😉
We spent the day on Sunday the 18th at Hungry Horse National Park !! The views there were outstanding and a beautiful sunny cool day!! 68 degrees!!!
Monday the 19th we had another oops!! The steps on the motor home decided to quit working!!! We just replaced them about a year ago!!!!😤😤
We tried to get parts ordered from the RV store but no luck. So we will have to order through the last company but right now we don’t know where to have them shipped to!!! Got to be in a place for a week for them to ship and arrive. So as of now we are using a small ladder!!  It works!!!
We have made such good friends here at the campground Spruce RV Resort.
We have been beside a young girl named Hannah with 3 small children Eliah age 7 Lola’s age 5 and Norah age 2 !  They are moving here from Indiana and will not close on their home till Sept 6. Her husband, James is a helicopter pilot and works 1 week then off 1 week. They send him everywhere so it does not matter where they live. We have had lots of fun with the kids and helping Hannah keep them occupied as they are living in a small 25 ft camper.
We also met a couple Chris and Bonnie that are here as she is a traveling nurse and he is working on his Masters degree online. We have played a lot of UNO at night with them. What a great group
people God put in our path!!! We felt so blessed!!!
Yesterday the 23rd Glass Pro called 9am and said come on down!!! The windshield is here!
Took them 4 hours. We rode around shopped at michaels, pet owner, Walmart and ate at chic fil a!! We had Lexie so had to go where she could go !! Lol
Today the 23rd we said our goodbyes to the great friends we had made and headed to North Dakota
Theodore Roosevelt National Park. We drove 6 hrs and stopped at Lowe’s for the night!! Thank you Lowe’s!! Lol
On to the park tomorrow for a few days!!
Got a few pics to share!! The big air ballon went up several times while we were in the RV Park!!
Love to all,  Ms. Fran & Cap’n Rod

August 6-9th 2019 Kelispell, Montana

August 6th.  We said goodbye to to Columbia Fall RV and only drove 15 miles south to Kelispell. Montana and checked in to Spruce Pines RV Park. I had.made reservations here as this is the only place they could find on our route that had the ability to replace our Motor home windshield. Not every glass company can do this!!! So here we are for one week and glass has been shipped but won’t arrive till next Tuesday the day we are suppose to leave here!!! Glass Dr is letting us camp out in their parking lot overnight since they will be replacing Wednesday morning. This time of year out here if you don’t have reservation at least a week in advance you don’t have a place to stay. You might find a campground but it will be a dump !!!!  Lol  We went to Glass Dr on Wednesday the 7th super nice people and said they would need 5 hours to put in the windshield and spending the night in their lot was not a problem at all. So we are set pending delivery of the glass!!!!
Aug 7th.  We were told about a good RV parts store as we need to replace a water pump for our fresh water when not connected to a water source. It has a small leak, but don’t want to take the chance of if it becoming not functional when we are traveling. So this will Be Rod’s job tomorrow to replace!!
Aug 8th day!! First cloudy day we have seen in months!! Suppose to rain tomorrow so it’s a must Rod gets the outside work done today. Like replace the water pump!!! Lol  It’s been a stay at home day.
Aug 9th. We stayed at home all day yesterday. Even though Rod had chores to be completed and they did get done, he is ready to ride again!! He can not sit still for long!! LOL
We drove to some of the small towns around the mountains Homestead, Lakeside, Polson, and Elmo. Beautiful small towns at the base of the mountains. We had lunch at Homestead Cafe. Just enjoyed the ride, the views for the first time since we have left home in June IT RAINED!!!  Lol
We were coming back into Kelispell and what is sitting in the parking lot of a grocery store???  THE OSCAR MEYER WIENER TRUCK!!!! I made Rod whip our little car right over there!!! We took pics!! Got me an Oscar Meyer wiener whistle!!! And free hot dog!!! It’s a day to remember. I’ve always wanted to run into it somewhere in my travels and now I can say  YES I have seen it!!! Lol
We have a few days to rest up before our adventures begun again.
Love to all, Ms. Fran & Cap’n Rod
PS All the great views we have seen, you can tell what really made an impression on me the last few days!!   LOL

August 1-5, 2019 Glacier National Park Montana

We arrived at Columbia Falls RV Park, Montana early afternoon. Got set up, and went to Glacier National Airport to pick up my dear Friend Cathy Burnside!! She arrived at 5:30pm. We rested up and planned our adventures in Glacier while enjoying my chicken bog!! Lol
We took off the next morning (Friday) and went to the visitors center and drove through a lot of the park. We hiked the Trails of cedars, and Trail to Avalanche Lake. OK this was a 4.2 miles!!! A bit much for me but the incredible view on the arrival to Avalanche Lake was well worth the hike!!!
Only God could provide such a view!!! I’ll post pics but man it can not show the incredible views of this place!!
Saturday. After recovery of yesterday and a good nights rest we took off again by car to ride the 52 miles on the “Road to the Sun” again some of the most incredible views possible!!
Cathy had scheduled us a bus tour for all day tomorrow to take this road with a tour guide!!!!
Sunday. We met our Tour guide they are called “Jammers”. Our guide was  Jammer Glen !!!!  What a historic and fact filled tour about the park. Rod got to ride up front with Jammer Glen. We were with 7 other people on the bus!! Pics attached!! Another BUCKET LIST event!!! It could not have been a better day and shared with a very special friend.
Monday we slept in and then took Cathy to the airport to depart for home.  We all agreed it was an incredible 3 day event in our life. Funny how we started off every morning with jeans, sweatshirt and jacket and by the afternoon we were down to shorts and a t shirt and hot!!
I wish I could share the 322 pics I took in the last few days !! They are all incredible. I wish each of you could visit this park. We have been to many national parks and each have their own personality and landscape. So a favorite is hard to pic but this was in the top of the list!
Love to all, Ms. Fran & Cap’n Rod
