April16, 2019 St Louis, Missouri

Today was a long travel day!! As I said yesterday we spent the night at Cracker Barrel. Well we got up this morning went in and had breakfast. GPS said we were 32 mins from the Archway Monument in St Louis. Some people in Cracker Barrel told us where to go park this big rig down near the arches. We had everything planned and were going to spend the day there.
Well NO GO !!!! All parking was closed in the downtown area except the parking garages. Well this rig does not go into a parking garage. We stopped and spoke to one of the parking attendants and he said all lots for coaches and tour buses were closed due to the severe flooding of the lower city area. All we could do was take a few pics and leave. We were so sad!
Just put in Candi’s address and headed for Nashville TN. We arrived and got set up in her driveway around 4 pm and will be here 5days.
All the pics i have is from the motorhome of the archway in St Louis!! 😢😝

April 15th 2019 Kansas City and St. Louis Missouri

We left Hilltop Campground this morning and our goal was to get to St Louis today 300 miles or so. Our First stop was schedule in Kansas City right in downtown, which was a booger to find a place to pack this big rig, and see the The Treasures of the Steamboat Arabia. This boat sank in the Missouri River 150 some yrs ago. This private family along with only a few donors have escalated this old steamboat. It was a huge cargo ship so there were over 600,00 pieces of goods on the ship. No one died as it only sank in 15 ft of water but over the yrs it was about 45 ft under ground when found. It was truly unbelievable the thousands of perfect pieces they have cleaned and have on display. There are still many thousands they are still working on for display. It triply was unbelievable! A few hours there and some lunch and off we went again.
We discovered the Clydesdale Horse Ranch was just off Int 70 we were traveling on. We so wanted to go but after getting online I discovered they only take 25 reservations per day!!! And none available till Friday!!!  REALLY!! A bit disappointing but it’s on our bucket list to visit again.
We are spending the night at Cracker Barrel on the west side of St Louis had a great meal and will be spending the day tomorrow in downtown at the National monument of the great Arches!!! We will be there when they open in the morning!!!  Then it’s on to Candi’s (Rod daughter) in Nashville and visit for 5 days with her and the grandkids. Everyday is an adventure we feel so blessed to have seen!!

April 14th Topeka, Kansas

Sunday morning!! Coffee and Charles Stanley!! A good way to start a Sunday morning. I cooked a big breakfast and we headed into town to the Old Prairie Downtown Museum and the Tulip festival!! We had no idea it was such a huge place in downtown Topeka. We knew it was outside so we took Lexie and her stroller so she could go with us and enjoy some time outside. The view of Tulips were the most incredible. They grow here this time of year so well. The colors are so vibrant! A grand view!!
We went on back to the motorhome and Rod spent some time with a neighbor that had an old John Deer tractor. Me I washed clothes and cleaned house to get ready to leave tomorrow morning.
Love to all. Ms. Fran & Cap’n Rod
