March 26th Chandler, OK

We were having coffee early this morning waiting for Cody to call us as he was going to the tax office and the DMV in Georgetown for us to get our tags for our car. But after 45 mins the girls finally  told him it would not be possible I would have to bring the original paperwork into the office. He tried to explain we were 2500 miles away and would not be back before the tags expired but she basically said I’m sorry we don’t know what else she can do. Soooo Cody went back to his office at the dealership he works at and had them make me up a bill of sale and he is sending me temporary tags to be legal till we get home in May!! What a fiasco!!!!
But after all that had been done a lady there at the tax office that I have dealt with for years with our business called and and really apologized for the inconvenience. If she had been there she could have gotten everything completed for me. I told her what we were doing and she said well I guess I’ll will see you in May!! And again apologized for the issue.
So we took off and went toward Oklahoma City to a old historic town called Shawnee, OK. We went first to Vans Pig Stand (which was not a stand but a nice BBQ restaurant). And had lunch. It was great and everything several people had told us why we should go Eat there !! Pics attached. Then visited a few museums and drove though the downtown and had a fun filled day of history.
Downtown Oklahoma City tomorrow!!!

March 25th 2019 Chandler OK

We got up this morning after a great nights stay at the Stafford Space Museum in Weatherford, OK. Since we did I not get to tour the museum last night because we arrived to late, we took a few hours and went through the museum. Lots of great information about Thomas Stafford an astronaut on several of the Apollo missions. This is his home town where he grew up.
We then drove 167 miles traveling through Oklahoma City and north to a small town 50 miles north of Oklahoma City called Chandler. Very small community and we chose it to stay a week because it is between Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Ok. Hoping we can spend a few days in both cities.
We arrived at 3:30pm (we gained another hour in time). After getting the Motor Home set up we were starved as we did not stop for lunch, so we went through this small town and found a local Chinese restaurant. It was just what I needed!! I was tired of my cooking and really needed the break!LOL. Brought home a doggy bag with enough for another meal!!
Resting up tonight and making some plans to go into Oklahoma City tomorrow !!  A new adventure!!
Love to all, Ms. Fran & Cap’n Rod

March 22-23-24. 2019 Oklahoma City

We packed up and left Kiva RV Park in Albuquerque NM early on the 22nd. We drove to our next planned stop in Amarillo TX to Bar Z Winery. This place was on a app called Harvest Host, I bought a few months ago that gives you a free overnight stay and a tour of their facility. We are not wine drinkers but really wanted to see a winery and the making of wine so we stopped and spent the night. They served me a small glass of the sweetest wine they offered and it was pretty good. Rod tried it and like it ok too.  The facility was very interesting and we had a beautiful view from the RV over the canyon!! A great stop!!
We pulled out early this morning and arrived at the Stafford Air and Space Museum around 5pm. This to is a Harvest Host Museum. We signed in and will take the tour of the museum in the morning before we leave. We will be staying just outside of Oklahoma City in an RV park between Oklahoma City and Tulsa for a week starting tomorrow. We found lots of thinks to see and do around the area!!!
Love to all, Please continue to pray for our journey as we begin our way back home around May 15th

March 17-18-19-20-21. 2019 Albuquerque NM

Last Sunday we travel to Albuquerque NM to Kiva RV Park. It’s a little south of ABQ. Nice small little RV park to spend a week. Having to get mail shipped from home and get tags for our new car sent to us.
We spend Monday in downtown ABQ in the historic district. A fun adventure!!! Pic attached!
Tuesday morning I got up with my usual springtime cold and felt terrible!!! I laid on the couch all day and let Rod take care of me!! Boring day!!
I felt much better Wednesday so we went back downtown and toured some more and then went to the  tram and rode up the mountain that over looks ABQ!! What an adventure!!! We went back into town and had some great Mexican food. It was great but can’t find any place that have some salsa that is not a killer!!! Lol just to hot for these two oldies from the south LOL
Yesterday we stayed home washed clothes and rested again, I’m just still not up to par yet. Plus I have some largegitis and can’t talk.
This morning we went out again and visited the Pueblo Culture Museum! It was fantastic and really enjoyed the history of the Indians here in the area. (Be sure and look at the pic of Rod pushing Lexie in her new stroller, which he vowed he would never do!! Lol)
We had to find a Tractor supply to replace a special bar lock someone decided to take off our tow cart for our car. I hope they really needed it!!
Home and resting this evening!! We will be out some tomorrow a little we must prepare the motorhome to pull out of here Saturday morning headed for Amarillo TX.
Love to all!! Please keep our travels in your prayers!!

March 13-14-15-16. 2019. Grand Canyon Az

We arrived late afternoon on the 13th  to the Village Trailor RV Park in the center of the south end of the Grand Canyon!!  We arrived to about a foot of snow and still snowing when we arrived. It’s amazing how they keep the roads in excellent driving conditions!!! We had an amazing visit!! In 3 days we took the 4 free bus routes through the park and stopped at every lookout to take in some of the most incredible views possible!!! We packed a lunch everyday and sat at the picnic area and enjoyed our time eating!!  Freezing cold everyday!! First morning we woke to frozen water pipes!! Thank goodness none had bursted!! Rod put a small heater in the water tank compartment and in an hour we had flowing water again! Each night Rod turned on that little heater and it solved the issue!! Lol.  We left early on the 16th headed for Albuquerque NM but decided to make another detour and go back to Phoenix Az as Rod found that Mecum Car Auction was at the arena there, He has always wanted to go as he has watched it on TV for years. A 2 hour detour and 4 hour total as we have to come back to Interstate 40 to head east.
We enjoyed a great afternoon there at the action drooling over all the incredible cars there for auction!! Headed tonight back towards Flagstaff Az to pick up I-40 headed east. I have made reservations near Albuquerque to stop for a week. We need to get mail sent to us and need to get our tags for the new car we had to buy in San Antonio last month. Spending the night at a good ole Cracker Barrel tonight in Glensdale Az. Heading out early in the morning!!
pray for a safe journey!!!  Love to all, Ms. Fran & Cap’n Rod
