Drove for a while (till 11pm) and found a rest area for campers only. That’s Idaho for this service!!! Nice place to sleep for a while.
We started out the next morning and I called the Trout Creek RV Park to see if they could take us a day early. They only had a dry dock site for the night, but that was ok as we can be totally self sufficient.
The next morning we moved into our site with power, water and sewer.
We had scheduled to stay here as a lay over to Glacier Nation Park which had been reserved several months ago. We spent the 3 days resting cleaning and planning our adventure in Glacier.
Trout Creek is known for its yearly Huckleberry Festival which of course is next week Aug 7-10.
We enjoyed some bike riding and did drive to Thompson Falls to check out its suggested history from a couple we met at the park. We walked the town had brunch at Minnie’s Cafe and had the honor of meeting a WWII Purple Heart recipient Norman Ovitt!! He had to have been in his 90s He was so sweet. We felt honored to meet him And we were blessed to buy his breakfast. The waitress said he came in most days to eat there! We enjoyed our time in the town and it’s quaintness!!
We did enjoy several huckleberry mike shakes during our time at Trout Creek!!! Lol
This was a good layover and a few restful days before Glacier Park!!
Love to all, Ms. Fran & Cap’n Rod
