January 10th-13th 2019

I thought I had better try and catch up a little!!! Rod had his cataract surgery We’d the 9th and all went very well!! We saw our regular eye dr on Thursday morning the 10th and he released Rod to go and we could move on and travel. Rod decided to wait and have the right eye done at a later time as they will not consider doing the second eye for 2 weeks. It may be June before he has the right eye done.
Rod, being anxious to hit the road, plus the high temp in MB was 34 degrees, we packed up the motor home and decided to go to Florida to the keys and spend a few days.
Plans changed quickly when we arrived in Savannah, Ga about 8pm stopped at a Cracker Barrel for supper and camp for the night.  We started up the generator and in about 20 mins we have batter acid fumes throughout the intire motor home!!!! Rod cut everything off, we opened up all the doors and ceiling fans to get rid if the toxic fumes from the batteries!!   After some thoughts and trying to decided how to get this repaired we decided to head back to MB. We arrived back at our RV space in MB at 4:15 am!!! Exhausted we slept till 6am (he woke me at 7:30) Rod called Cody and they decided to have us take the motor home to his shop and evaluate the batteries. 2 hours later and 2 new heavy duty batteries installed, off we went again toward Florida. Of course in the meantime we lost out reservations in the Keys and nothing was available this month!!! Its busy in Florida in the winter!!!
We went to St Augustine then decided to head to Sanford for the week at Paula and Jim’s always good to see them again AND ITS 80 DEGREES here!!! Lol. We have worn tee shirts and shorts the last 2 days.
We went to Geneva General store which is a must here for everyone on Saturday night! They have live music and one of our very favorites Bobby Sanders was there!!
We thought of you John Maiden all evening!! This guys plays a guitar that sounds like you!! Sure wish you could meet this man!!
Today was house cleaning clothes and sheets washed. A trip to Walmart was made.
We will be here till Thursday morning. We will travel to Jacksonville to Big Tree RV Resort and meet Cody Sarah and Katie to celebrate Katie’s 1st Birthday. I’ll post our adventures!!
Love to all, Ms. Fran & Cap’n Rod
