June 4 & 5th 2019. Sterling and Tawas MI

We arrived yesterday June 4th to our scheduled campground River View RV in Sterling, MI. We got this big rig all set up.  All day I have felt horrible!! Feels like a cold maybe some bronchitis. Or just my allergies. Showered and in bed by 10pm!!!
We got woke up by Lexie about 5am thunder storms for almost an hour!!! It took her another 30 mins to calm back down, then finally back to sleep for us all!!!
About 7am I was up and feeling some better but can hardly talk at all.
We ate some breakfast and headed out for the 45 min drive to East Tawas, Michigan!! A beautiful scenic drive by  Lake Huron!!
We arrived at Mikes house and let the dogs greet and meet. The boys loved talking about all the great times they had on the tour boat. Cap’n Mike worked for us almost 2 years. He has been living here in Michigan for 8 years.
He took us to a local downtown restaurant. The Whitetail Cafe (Much like Thomas Cafe in GT). Of course everyone knew him and he introduced us to everyone.
He then took us to his closest friends Ned and Kathy. They have lived in Tawas for 25 years. They do lots of mission work and both do them are fabulous woodworkers!! They let us tour their workshops. It was like a huge wood carving museum. We enjoyed tea and cookies and lots of great conversation for several hours.
We returned to Mikes house and said out goodbyes to him and now Lexie’s new friends Boomer and Sadie.
On the way back coming by the lake again we stopped for a few photos. Cloudy foggy day over the Lake. Still a beautiful site to see!! A new place for both of us to visit.
Such a busy day I am pooped!! I had to lay on the couch for a while before cooking us some supper.
Sure hope this whatever it is gets gone soon!!
Hoping to post my pics of the day!!
Love to all, Ms. Fran & Cap’n Rod
