June 8th Bear Lake MI

We took off this morning after taking Lexie for a nice long walk around the park!! We visited a small historic town called Arcadia that over looks Lake Michigan. What an incredibly beautiful body of water!! I would swear it was in the Florida Keys except it’s temp, in the summer is only 60 degrees. People said it was about 50 degrees right now. I took their word for it and did not get even my feet in!! Lol.  Went on north to the city of Frankfort and stopped at several lookouts over the Lake. Then on to Point Betsie Lighthouse. We climbed the short 44 steps to the top very steep and narrow. A great tour guide at the top told us all the history. I said you don’t talk like you are from Michigan? She said cause I’m a Georgia girl!!! Married a guy from here 10 yrs ago.
Then on to the famous Traverse City. A beautiful historic town sitting on Lake Michigan with miles of beach front made incredibly beautiful for all who visit here.  I found a sweatshirt I have been looking for in the Roth Life is Good store. Pic attached!!! We ate lunch at the Green House Cafe and our waitress Mandy told us about the area, where the visitor was and said we just had to go see the Mission Point Lighthouse.
It was 4pm and we decided to rush on upstate to Mission Point Lighthouse it was a 19 mile trip and it closed at 5pm. So worth the trip!! Again the view was breath taking. We slowed down a little on the trip back to enjoy the miles of fields of grapevine and cherry trees. Every 3 miles was a huge winery   full of tour buses!! Groups out on Saturday for wine tasting tours!!!
It was a 1 1/2  hour trip back to the campground!! Grand day and the weather was incredible!!
Another fun filled day!!! We were traveling on a small road headed to one of the lighthouses today and came upon a huge deer with her baby feeding on the side of the road!! Just another blessing!!!
Love to all, Ms. Fran & Cap’n Rod
