2/13/15 Friday Jekyll Island, Ga

We chose to sleep in a little this morning and did not leave the dock at Jacksonville till almost 8am!!! Decided to be lazy!! Ha   We had a wonderful day of travel, although windy all day. So my worry of crossing the dreaded St Andrews Sound was legitimate!!! Although not as bad as the first year when we had such devastating waves and wind, but still horrible!!! It's a 30 minute crossing that seems to last for hours!!! We got across safe, things falling off of the shelves as the boat pitched and rolled but nothing broken, just a few messes to clean up!!! The door on the refridgerator on the upstairs bridge flew open and everything came rolling out !! Nothing i could do at the time but let it roll around !!! Rod wanted me to take pictures of the rough water but all I could do was sit and hold on!!! He was concerned with the conditions but I was a nervous wreck!! After we made it across I just started putting everything back in it place, and all is well!!!!!  We docked at Jekyll Island Maina and have decided to stay till Monday as the wind is predicted to be high till Sunday night!! Staying here, safe and warm!!!! I like safe and warm! Ha
It's a nice place, but we have been here 5 times, just about seen everything there is to see here. But we decided better safe than sorry to get caught in bad weather.
We had supper tonight at the restaurant here at the Marina called Sea Jays. Had a wonderful waitress Kelly and a great meal of shrimp, coleslaw and onion rings. Rod had some peel and eat shrimp and grits!! We then shared a desert Kelly talked Rod into called called chocolate brownie Devine !! It was scrumptious!!! After we devoured I said "oh man I forgot to take a picture!!!" Too late now! Ha
Cold night!! I just can't seem to get warm!!! Ha   I have been south toooo long! Ha
I have no idea what we will do tomorrow, just have to see how cold it is, maybe a good bike ride around the island. Looks like the hardware store will be visted as we need more weather stripping for the windows!! Anything to help keep out the cold! ha  It is a very safe and great bike paths!!
I'll keep you posted!!! I do hope all are staying warm!!!
Love to all, Fran and Capn Rod

This is a wind generator we saw at a house on the waterway today!! It looked like ribbons flying in a circle!! Cooll way to produce electricity!!

Supper tonight at Sea Jays!!! Sure beats cooking!!

Our waitress Kelly!!!

Yummo!!! We shared a little of all!!!

The sunset from the porch of the restaurant!! Awesome!!! Looks like a postcard !!
