2/7/15 Saturday Sanford Fla

Another georgeous day!!! I love this sunshine!!!!  Having coffee this morning out on the back deck of the boat, we saw tents being set up on the river walk across from the boat. Then old fire trucks came, and other emergency response trailers, and helicopters. So instead of doing our chores, we decided to take off and go see what was going on!!! We were suppose to go to the art festival in Mt Dora with Paila and Jim, but Paula woke up with severe back pain.
They had every aspect of an emergency response team there for demonstration and was giving way goodies to the kids, I got my Jr firefighter sticker!!! I will share some of the pics (I took many)!! Ha
I thought is was a little chilly and wore a sweatshirt, but before we had walked 100 ft, I was down to a Tshirt!!! Nice day!! Then we went, one last time before we leave here, and devoured another bread bowl of French onion soup at The Corner Cafe!!! Then back to the boat after getting a few veggies at the farmers market, and started our needed chores before we head out of here the first of the week.
Paula wanted to take a short walk to see how her back would hold up so we went and checked on the heron nest, they were not at home!!
Clothes washed, house cleaned and bikes now on board. Just the dinghy, and kayak yet to load!! Water tanks are full and it looks like we are pretty much ready.
We all then decided to go to a restaurant called Wolfy's here at the marina to have dinner and see the band that was playing for the Benifit to raise medical funds for Jim's son battling cancer!!! But for us old folks, it was just to loud to enjoy!!! We did not stay long!! Ha
It's suppose to rain Monday so we will pull out of here Tuesday morning early.
We plan to go to Titusville tomorrow and have supper tomorrow night at another favorite restaurant where we can watch another missile launch at 6:30pm!! I hope it does not get cancelled!!!
Overall it's been a good day!!!
Much love to all, Fran and Capn Rod

Sanford's first fire truck!!! 1921.  Some high school kids just refurbished it this year!!! It still runs and all parts work as it did when it was new!! Rod was enjoying talking to the man that keeps it sparking new.

A church here owns this trailer they take to disaster areas!! We took a tour through it, the ladies said they could serve 2000 meals a day!!! What a ministry!!!

Rod had a great time talking to this young lady about alligators !!! This one is a pet but they capture nuisance gators and relocate them to another area.

I want my dogs life !!!! Ha  she is so spoiled!!!!  She loves the back deck too!! Basking in the sun!!!
