12/11/15 Friday Leaving Georgetown, SC

Finally our first day of travel!!! Notice it is Friday and we were suppose to leave Monday the 7th!! Monday we just still had not gotten everything we needed completed so we decided to wait till Tuesday.   Tuesday morning we got up 6:30am was to meet Chris at the fuel dock to fuel up and the fog was just to bad to go!! Tuesday afternoon we did go fuel up the boat and did a test drive on motors and electronics, all went well!! Wednesday morning again up at 6:30am to shove off at 7am. All was ready to go and THE ENGINE ROOM FILLED UP WITH SMOKE!!!!! We shut off everything and after some evaluation we discovered an alternator had quit AND the exhaust pipe had come loose from the muffler and all the exhaust was coming back into the engine room! 2 days later, a new alternator and and welded exhaust pipe, we left this morning at 7:11am purring like a kitten!!!! i just figured God had a reason for us not to leave until today!!
We traveled 83 miles today about 15 miles south of Charleston, SC and have anchored in the Wadmalaw River. A quiet calm place and a great place to anchor. We had a great travel day weather was great 77 degrees and beautiful sunny skies all day.
Already had dinner Rod grilled some marinated teriyaki chicken, I made teriyaki rice and a salad of cherry tomatoes!!! Yummy!! Rod is now installing the inverter to operate the TV and connecting to our external dish!!! Maybe a little news to watch or if we are lucky a movie.
We are thankful for a great day and so glad to be cruising South on the ICW again!! When we anchored 2 guys Ina small boat stopped by to ask if we were ok!!!  God sends angels, even in a fishing boat, just to check on us sometimes!!
Please keep us in your prayers for safe travels!!! I'm posting a few pics I took today!!
Love to all our family and friends!!  Fran and Capn Rod
