Day 24 of our voyage "Headed to the Keys" 1/2/13

It's hard to believe we have been on this voyage for 24 days!!! Rodney ask me this morning as we were leaving Islamorada what I had enjoyed the best of all we had seen and done so far!! It was hard to answer but I think most of all it has been the travel its self!! The waterway is magnificent, the beautiful water the scenery it's hard to beat !! Maybe I am getting old or maybe it is that I have lived in a resort town for so many years the touristy thing is fun but just not the highlight. ha The people we have had the chance to meet, wow many of those. It's all been good!!
Today was a travel day back toward Miami. We are anchored tonight at a small island in the keys called Elliott's Key, It is just north of Key Largo, i did not think i was going to be able to stop Rodney pulling right back into the cove and staying there another few days!! We really did like Key Largo. Elliotts Key is part of the Everglades Nat. park and wildlife refuge. Lexie so enjoyed the dinghy ride today over to Island and a nice long run up and down the beach!! Water was wonderful but still pretty cold I waded in about to my knees and found some teeny tiny conch shells!!! There was a Hugh sponge on the island, but I was to afraid to bring it back with me !! We ate New Years left overs for dinner sitting out on the back deck and enjoyed a wonderful moon rise!! it is pitch dark otherwise!! Quiet and peaceful!! Just makes you want to sit and count your many blessings!! We are already making plans for the stops we want to make and the days to stay in each place!!! Sightseeing on the way back up the coast!!
We had a great travel day!! Love to all, Fran
Pics: Hope you can see the magnitude of the beautiful Blue water !! So clear you see the dolphins swimming with us beside the boat!! It's way to cool to watch!!
