Day 25/26/27/28 of our voyage "Headed to the Keys" 1/3-4-5-6/13

Oh Man I did not realize it had been 3 evenings since I had not blogged !!! We have had a rough few days!! Lets see!! Last Thur night we anchored outside of West Palm Beach very late as we just could not find a place inside the city here to anchor this Hugh boat!! ( I really did not plan well)!!! Ha. We had to sneak over to some condos, thank goodness it was dark, and let Lexie do her thing on the grass( I did clean up after her) so no one even knew we were there!! Next morning we got up around 7 so we could sneak over there again, and we did without a hitch!! ha
But, got back to the boat AND we could not pull up anchor !! The motor that runs the pulley was DEAD!!! But my captain got out there and pulled up 100 foot of chain and a 50 lb anchor up on board!! (That's what we get for sneaking onto property we were not suppose to be on!!!). Away we went !! After about an hour or so our generator quit!! I am dead!!! So we had no power to run any appliances on the boat. Of course we do have battery powere that keeps the refrigerators and a few lights but that's it!! No cooking !!! We got to West Palm Beach and found some public docks that we could dock at for the day so Rodney could work on the generator and the wench for our anchor!! We seem to have had something to work on continuously!! That's what you get when you buy an older boat!! We met a wonderful gentleman there named Steve with a sailboat docked there and he knew the area well. Gave us good instructions on how to get around town, good places to eat (remember I have no power to cook), and a Boaters warehouse where we could get parts!!
Rodney evaled the needed parts and off we went on our bicycle rode 10miles, there and back, and of course stopped to eat at a great Miami Subs for lunch!! Rod worked the rest of the day on the wench but not able to repair😢. That now means he has to pull it up by hand the next time we anchor until we can find someone to work on it!! He rebuilt the water pump on the generator the next day, Saturday, and YEA !!! We have power again!!! He still took me out to dinner at a place called Grease it is a locals place for the best burger in West Palm Beach. We sat right on the side walk and had a wonderful evening enjoying the town!!
Here it is Sunday morning and we have been blessed with a wonderful sunrise and 80 degrees and a beautiful day to travel. We will try and get to Stuart Fla tonight as we want to sight see there maybe a day or two not sure we will decide when we get there!!
I feel sorry as Rodney seems to have to work on something everyday but over all we have really enjoyed our adventure so far!! Love to all, Fran
Pic: just Lexie enjoying her favorite time of day!! Going to bed!! ha
All my great pics of West Palm are on my camera😪 I will have to share later!!!
