July 17th, 2019 Trinidad, Ca.

We pulled into Elk Park Country RV Park around 1:30pm today!! What a grand surprise !! Just as they said here are 50 plus large resident Elk in the meadow at the campground. What a beautiful place. We got the motor home set up and got the bikes down and went over to the ocean!!! First time Rod has ever put his feet into the Pacific Ocean. The beache looks nothing like the Atlantic at home. The people her don’t go shelling on the beach they look for rocks!! All have a name and kind, and there are books and pamphlets at all the ranger stations telling you what the rocks are and where they come from. We had a great afternoon.
After we come back to the motorhome all the Elk had disappeared!!! Everyone said they go hide in the woods in the afternoon but will be back tomorrow morning. They warned us to be sure and open the door to go outside slow and look as there could be one standing right at the door. They are very content around people but are still wild animals. We had an entire sheet of rules to obey around the Elk!!! Lol
Still need to deal with the badly injured windshield tomorrow!!!
It still holding up well with the gorilla tape job!!! Lol
Love to all, Ms. Fran & Cap’n Rod
