1/1/16 New Years Day!! Friday Sanford Fla

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! My prayer for 2016 is to be thankful for another day and another year to make a difference. I pray God gives us the chance to make a difference daily!!
We enjoyed a very quiet restful New Years Day!! Got up and rode our bikes through town and the river walk!! Stopped at McDonald's for a quick lunch then rode 4 miles to help work off the calories!!! Lol
We then boarded the "Little Boat" with Paula and Jim and took a nice ride up the St. Johns River to Wekiva State preserve and rode through the most beautiful waters imaginable !! Wildlife galore!! 82 degrees sunny and good friends!! What more could a person want other than having all our family on board with us to to enjoy this spectacular scenery!!! I do have a few pics to share but we said many times today no picture could really show this splendor of God's creation!!!
After some rest I prepared for us a traditional southern New Years meal!! Pork, collards, hoppin johns, and rolls!! Rod pigged out!! LOL
WE LOVE YOU ALL!!! Many blessing to each of you in 2016!!!!!
Riding up the river we went under a railroad bridge!! Look an osprey must have thought this was a good safe place to build a home!!! Paula said it had been there for several years!! This portion of the bridge moves up and down all day for big boats to go under!!!

This gator was not about to leave his sunny spot as he let us get right up next to him to photograph!

This turtle even waved at us for a pic!! Ha

We have seen a blue heron nest everyday on our water adventures!! Must be the nesting season!!

Traditional southern New Years dinner!!!  Hope all of you enjoyed one!!

The story behind this pick. Lexie has befriended everyone on our dock but two special people here beside us named Kat and Matt have loved and played with Lexie daily. Kat came by and brought Lexie some fresh cooked chicken livers, gizzards and hearts!!!  We have so loved the friends we have made on our journey!! Special New Years treat for Lexie!!
