1/1/17 Sunday

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I pray for Gods blessing to be with each of you in 2017!!
We did not stay up till midnight but when the fireworks started going off we were woken up by them!! Wished each other a Happy New Year, calmed Lexie for a few minutes and went back to sleep!  Lol
It was a gorgeous day here 85 degrees and sunny all day! The wind has really calmed down yesterday and today. We hung around the boat this morning and decided to go to Burger King (the only fast food here in the island) and splurge for a whopper meal!!  We rode our bike for a while to work off the calories and watched the horrible traffic trying to get off the island. I guess the holidays are over so everyone is headed home. Local people call these two weeks "hell weeks" as it is their busiest time of the year.
We went back to the boat and got in the kayak and paddled around the islands here. We wanted a pic from the water showing where our boat is docked. We saw lots of fish, jellyfish a lobster, and of course manatee!! The manatee were swimming all around the kayak!!  I have some pics to share.
He rest of the day was just hanging out resting! That is what you are suppose to do on New Years right?
I fix our traditional New Years supper of pork chops on the grill (by Rod), collards, black eyed peas, and cornbread!! Yummo!! What a way to start the new year! I certainaly hope you did too!
2 more days left here on this beautiful island and then we will be moving on. Certainly ready to get back to a lower rent district!
Looking forward to what 2017 has in store for us!!
Much love to all, Ms. Fran & Capn Rod
Taken from out kayak looking back on the dockage atLorelei Can you see our boat in the back ground?
Selfies in the kayak!! Lol
Beautiful jellyfish!! The water is incredibly clear!!
This is how we found the manatee, passing gas under water! Hehe
He was swimming right under our kayak.
Asking to be petted!!
Coming to us for attention!
