1/2/15 Friday Ft. Pierce Fla.

Another day of off and on rain!!! We got up this morning and the weather looked pretty good, rain clouds were still out over the ocean. So we decided to continue with our plans to make the 5 mile bike ride to the Navy Seal Training facility Museum!!! We stooped at a recommended restaurant, The Captains Galley for breakfast.and then headed on our journey to the museum. About a mile or so into our ride, here comes the rain!!! Thank God for ponchos!!  Ha   We stopped and covered ourselves ( so wish I could have gotten a selfie) just rained hard enough to need our ponchos. On we peddled and in about 50 minutes we arrived!!!  Not a bad ride at all!!! (It would have been a great ride if it had not rained on us)hehe. This museum was soooo worth the trip!!! I took 26 pics there today so wish I could share them all with you. I will post a few special ones.
On our return ride back, again it started raining on us and again we put in our trusty ponchos!! By the time we arrived back to the boat it was sunny again!! Go figure!!
We decided to walk for a while around the town to see if there were any stores to browse through but NOOOO these people take a holiday serious!!, most were still closed till Saturday some had signs closed till Monday!!!! We chose to stop and eat at Uncle Carlos Subs and Geleto deli. This place was recommended by our friends Paula and Jim. We enjoyed an Italian panini and then I had a cup of Peach Geleto and Rod had raspberry!!  Yummo!!!!
We discovered that Friday Fest , that is every Friday night,  guess what, cancelled for the holidays!!! Again I was not surprised, but disappointed!!
We were told that the Farmers market and crafts every Saturday, took place rain or shine did not matter if it was a holiday!! Yeah!!!! We will be there 8am!!!! Paula and Jim have decided to drive down and spend the day. It is a 2 1/2 drive for them but they really wanted to come spend the day with us!!! Monday is Paula's birthday so we will celebrate together tomorrow!!!
A fun day despite the rain!!! Suppose to be a pretty sunny weekend, according to the weatherman!! Whatever that's worth!, Ha
Just a few more days here, then we will continue on our journey!!
Love to all, hope your new year is getting off to a good start!!   Fran and Capn Rod

What a great place to spend our day!!! What I learned about these guys and the training they endure, is mind blowing!! What they do for the safety of our country is incredible!!!

Ain't he cute???   the Navy Seal logo!!

Frogman logo!!
Osama bin laden's living compound where he was killed by the Navy seals!!!!

This tells all !!!

This was sitting on a HUGH piece of steel the navy seals were given for their part in protecting our country during the 911 World Trade Center attack!!!
Hope you saw the movie Captain Phillips? It was a true story!!! This is the life boat in the real life rescue complete with bullet holes and shot out glass by the seals, of Capt Phillips!! Great movie if you have not seen!!!  I got to climb in and see the close quarters of this thing!! We saw a Tshirt in the gift shop that said navy seals 3, Pirates 0.  Hehe

Rod loves a gun!!! These are replicas of real military rifles for you to photo with!!! They had several but you would know Rod picked the biggest!!!! This is a real life boat used by the Seals!!!

I climbed to the top of this HUGH boat used during the Iraq war by the seals!!!

I never was able to find out how many men rang the bell and gave up!!!! What dedication it took to be a Navy Seal!!   I was blown away!!!  Any of you know a Navy Seal? I do not. Also I want to know if there was ever a woman?
